The duck is a symbol of happiness, adaptability, and transformation.

Downtown has evolved alongside its three rivers, and the community loves being surrounded by water and the many activities it offers.

Fountain: Represents the beloved Point State Park Fountain, completed in 1974
Fort Duquesne Bridge: Represents the bridge connecting Downtown to the North Shore over the Allegheny River, as well as the many bridges of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Duck-related Fun Fact!

Did you know there was a four-story-tall rubber duck on the Allegheny River in 2013? The duck was created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.

Pittsburgh Water-related Fun Fact!

Pittsburgh’s “Fourth River” refers to the aquifer that runs under the city. It supplies water to the fountain at the Point, along with other buildings in Downtown.
