Known for reinventing itself from its smoky past, Pittsburgh continues to grow as a vibrant, world-class destination.
ICONS TO LOOK FOR:
Transportation: The bike, bus, and car icons represent the many ways people travel throughout Pittsburgh
Restaurants: Represents the many people who enjoy dining downtown, gathering with friends for meals and drinks
Performing arts: The ballet and violin icons represent the performances and concerts found in the Cultural District
Shopping: The shopping bag icon represents the variety of shopping available downtown, from local stores to special events
Sports: The football, penguin and baseball icons represent Pittsburgh’s deep connection to sports and the many activities that bring fans together
Farmers Market: The carrot icon represents the Downtown Farmers Market, held each year from May through September
Water sports: Represents the many ways Pittsburghers enjoy the rivers, including boating and other recreational water activities
Pattern Detail
The pattern in this design uses “water” and “fire” symbols, representing two elements that were instrumental in making Pittsburgh the great city it is today.
